A Load Cell is a transducer that converts mechanical forces or loads into an electrical signal. Metal foil/thin film strain gauges are bonded onto a structural membrane that deforms when weight or load is applied. Usually 4 metal strain gauges are used to obtain maximum sensitivity and temperature compensation.
